I Guess He Looks Down from His King James Throne and Thinks: “I forgive them because they know not what they do”
Let me preface everything I am about to say with the fact that yes, I am a Knicks fan, and no, I did not have any thoughts or hopes of Lebron James coming to New York. Im writing this with pure emotion as a supporter of Lebron James as an individual player and person, not in light of any particular team.
Now, with the breaking news of Lebron James decision to return home to Cleveland today, I must say from the bottom of my heart, I am utterly disgusted.
Im going to keep why I feel that way short and sweet. Cleveland to Lebron (in my head) is like that old bitter ex-wife that he had to divorce after trying any and everything possible to bring her to the high level in which he must operate to succeed. But when he saw that she could not live up to that high level, he moved on in what I considered a very honorable, entertaining way. Some may disagree with “The Decision”, but I disagree with how King James was treated despite all of his good deeds, good works, and good intentions for Cleveland, so lets not get into it.
So, the ex-wife (which consists of Cleveland fans, the owner, the media and anyone who turned against him, those who spoke ill words of him, and those who prayed for his demise) actually, and symbolically through other actions and words, burned his jersey in protest of his leaving like Angela Basset’s character burned her husband’s car in Waiting To Exhale. But the big difference between them and Angela Basset’s husband’s character in Waiting to Exhale, is that Lebron did nothing to deserve being demonized! He really did try, and sometimes, things just don’t work out. But, knowing his heart has and always will be at home, they should have supported his decision like a good woman would do by saying something like, “I trust you baby. I know you see the bigger picture, and although it hurts for now, go do what you have to do, and I will be here for you when you get back”.
Now, after doing everything to tear him down, the ungrateful, entitled, disloyal ex-wife gets him back? YUCK! But thats a good man for you. Going back home to help this small minded, goofy woman that he loves, despite her evil emotional ways. I guess he looks down from his King James throne and thinks: “I forgive them because they know not what they do”.
