A Controversy With a Disloyal Side Chick Has to Hit WorldStarHipHop.com For Us to Pay Attention
I have been tip-toeing around doing this blog entry about Donald Sterling long enough. Let me say upfront, that YES, he is clearly very racist. But, I don’t think he should have been stripped of his team and NBA association based on a private conversation with his side piece and the rules he places upon her in their relationship. He should have been stripped of his powerful position based on his shady racist past. As a matter of fact, why was he allowed in that powerful position in the first place? From what I have read, Donald Sterling’s past was no big secret. The NAACP even awarded him a lifetime achievement award of some sorts. So what are we really saying here people? That its ok if its hidden from the masses? As long as its not in the forefront, its cool? Moreover, are we seriously not allowed to feel the way we feel if its not in line with what the masses think? And how can we be sure what the masses think if no one is allowed to be honest? Is the court of public opinion really the new judicial system? That’s a terrifying thought.
Now, I have listened to the Donald Sterling call with his side piece several times and the undertone I hear is jealously, insecurity and most importantly IMAGE. Correct me if I am wrong, but I didn’t hear him say he didn’t want black people at his games in general. He said he didn’t want her bringing black people to the games, hanging out with them, and posting it on Instagram causing people in his inner circle to call him. Lets be honest, this did not sound like the first time they have had this type of conversation. She knows the rules. Side pieces always know the rules and evidently she broke a rule that he had placed on their relationship and he was chastising her for it. Therefore, she is in no way a victim. She chose to deal with this type of man. But at this point, she was clearly ready to move on, so she decided to expose him. But, in doing that, she exposed herself as well. Now we all know that she has very little morals herself. Not only will she have relations as a mistress to a married man, but she will go the distance and choose to be with a sugga daddy that is racist against what she is as a person. Most importantly, we all know now that she is disloyal and can’t be trusted. Good luck finding a husband or another sugga daddy with all of that on your resume.
Getting back to the recorded call, when she said she “admired Magic Johnson”, Donald Sterling’s emotional reaction, to me, had jealous boyfriend written all over it. Sounded like he was more insecure than racist at that point if you pay attention to the undertone. Anytime a man says, ‘I don’t care’, ‘do whatever you want’, ‘you can fuck him for all I care’, etc., etc. in the tone he carried, it usually means he is caught up in his feelings and hurt about either you as his woman, or his manhood being compromised. He probably was jealous and insecure about her hanging to tight with any man. The fact that Magic Johnson is black is just the icing on the cake that probably taps into Donald Sterling’s insecurity and jealousy even more if you think about it. A man with Donald Sterling’s racist mentality is likely to be a man that believes stereotypes about black men being sexual beasts. Im willing to bet that crossed his mind several times during his rant. But of course, for a man like Sterling, its easier to attack the issue of Magic Johnson being black, and not the undertone of him being insecure. That way, in his mind, he keeps his control and manhood intact.
Overall, he sounds like an old man that is very out of touch with reality. Not just with his racist views and slave master mentality, but he also sounds like he is in denial of the fact that he is simply a sugga daddy to this side chick mistress of his. Whomever called him and told him about her Instagram post of her and Magic Johnson, is probably the same person that tells him that she is just using him for his money, while he somehow defends their relationship. Of course he knows the truth deep down, but image is everything. Lets keep the truth private. As for her, she is just as bad as Donald Sterling himself, and all the people that, up until this point, has turned a blind eye to the type of person Donald Sterling is both personally and professionally. Im almost 99.999999% sure, she knew he had that old school slave master mentality, but she was just joy riding like everyone else.
Bottom line, he can feel how he wants to feel, and so can I, and so can you. I love all of my Constitutional rights, and my American freedoms with all my heart, and I don’t want to be a part of the process in losing them in any shape, form, or fashion. I just think its sad that in order to keep a person that has a racist mentality and controversial business history out of power, a controversy with a disloyal side chick has to hit WorldStarHipHop.com for us to pay attention.

Really? Everybody is in an uproar about the Naadir Tharpe semi-nude selfie he took with a Twodel? And I stress, SEMI.
Now, before I get into why I think the picture is ok and everyone should STFU and let it slide, let me first admit that I had to google the word”Twodel”. At first I was thinking to myself, wow, random groupies get names now? No way!” So I hurried along to google seach and found the word “Twodel” pop up in the Urban dictionary. It simply means “Twitter Model”.
Ok, now that things make sense again, on to why this picture is just fine. Let me preface what Im about to say by first saying that I get why he shouldn’t have done it. However, those in an uproar should get why he did. He’s young, wild, and free. NT and that Twodel was just having an ol’ fashion college good time, in a new fashion kind of way.
We are living in the social networking age, and like it or not, selfies rule. As a matter of fact, hashtag that, #SelfiesRule. I’m willing to bet that if his Kansas University Coach Bill Self would think back to his college day antics, he would surely be likely to have similar sex-capades in his memory bank (minus the selfies of course). So lets be easy. Besides, we’ve seen worse! We have seen full on frontal nudity and straight up recored penetration (aka porn) from athletes and celebrities at this point, so why come down hard on this guy. No pun intended.
Now, if you have seen this “controversial” selfie (and stared at it as intensely as I have), then you would know that you barely see anything at all. You see the side of her breast, and none, I SAID NONE of, ANY parts of his private parts. Abercrombie & Fitch billboards are more explicit than this selfie!
So, I conclude that the people being overly sensitive and attacking theses young delicious college cuties for taking SEMI nude pics at a party, are likely to be people who are just probably envious of their youthful sexiness, and are people who just look bad naked.

Last night, the Cleveland Cavaliers retired the number 11 Jersey worn by Zydrunas Ilgauskas during a ceremonious halftime show at the Knicks vs Cavs game.
Now, there was so much going on at this game, I could barely pay attention to how well the Knicks were playing. As a matter of fact, the Knicks were playing so well, it was almost as if the knew each other. Go figure. With Carmelo Anthony seemingly half dead from a Michael Jordan level cold/flu, everyone had to step up. Well, not really, because Melo the Messiah, sick and all, was still killing them.
But what was so fun for me to watch was the old Cavs in the building there to support their pal “Z”. Although Lebron James had to be elsewhere for a Heat game the next day, he still managed to be there for Z. I felt as nervous for him as he looked in that suit hoping some crazed Cavs fan didn’t do something stupid. It was also fun to see all the old Cavs pose for real pics and pretend pics like the old days. But wait, is that Delonte West? Sure is! Is he getting in that pic? Sure is! Am I the only one wondering if Lebron’s mom, well, lets let bygones be bygones? Congrats to Zydrunas Ilgauskas. It was supposed to be his night and I’m glad all went well. He seems like a really good guy. I suppose the funniest thought in my head the whole night though, was imagining hearing John Travolta say his name.

READ MOREGluttons For Punishment
Surprise, surprise, JR Smith is playing well again, and I of course, have a theory as to why. When we left last season, he was our Six Man of the Year and quickly forgiven for that infamous elbow to the face during the playoffs (mostly because of what he had delivered all season). But when we started this season without JR due to, well, weed, Knicks fans were feeling a bit impatient. Then once he was able to play again, he was, well, a mess. The Six Man of the year was now getting boo’s from his fans (mostly out of disappointment rather than individual plays).
But now, I am writing this coming off of a Knicks loss to the Bucks in which JR dropped a very stylish 30 points. As a matter of fact, JR has been playing with his normal JR Smith swag as of late, so what is different?
In my humble (but usually accurate) opinion, it is because JR is a glutton
for punishment. Some people have a desire to constantly prove themselves to their haters and are driven by their subconscious desire to get them to love them, and JR Smith appears to be one of those types. But for those type of people, once they get that love, they sabotage it, and the cycle begins again.
Think of that one crush you had that paid you no mind. You did everything you could do to win their affection. Then once you had it, you were disinterested and started to treat them, well, bad (until they turned against you, then you were all in again). Round and round the cycle continued until you completely sabotaged the relationship and lost a good thing, or you smarten up and started doing your very best to do right by them even when you had their heart in a bag; therefore maintaining a good relationship.
Right now, it seems that JR Smith is climbing his way back into the hearts of Woodson, his teammates, and fans everywhere. I, like most Knicks fans, just hope I don’t catch an elbow to the face for letting him back in again. But who am I kidding? It really wouldn’t matter. He’s entertaining at his best, and he is even entertaining (in some ways) when he is at his worse. Its fun to watch his comebacks. I guess when you think about it, we who love the Knicks (and JR Smith) are also guilty of being gluttons for punishment.

READ MORESounds Like a New York Knickerbocker To Me
To be honest, I don’t know if I am happy or sad that the Knicks waived Chris Smith and signed Jeremy Tyler. In fact, for the first time in many, MANY years, I don’t know what to say about the Knicks at all. Usually, I have an over abundance of #CoachVon comments to sarcastically drive my points home, and accurately call the outcome of every Knicks game almost precisely. If you don’t believe me, scroll back to years ago when I first opened my Twitter account and you will experience my trash talking accuracy. But that is besides the point.
The point I am trying to make is that I am void of comments lately because it really doesn’t seem like anything matters or makes sense. At least in the David Lee, Gallo, Nate Robinson era of the Knicks I could call the games and predict who would win based on stats, scouting and injury reports, skill level comparisons of the other team, etc.; not effort. Those guys always gave effort, even if there were injuries to key players. They made it easy, for me at least, to defend my home team.
With the 2013-2014 roster, I cant possibly tell you whats going to happen game per game regardless of any reports or stats. Game by game, quarter by quarter I feel just as confused as they appear.
Now, the Knicks have added Jeremy Tyler. I suppose you cant be mad at a 6’10 Center that had enough balls, (according to todays New York Times article) to ‘out of frustration, change out of his uniform at halftime during one of the games (when he was playing in Israel) and watch the rest of the game from the bench in street clothes’. Sounds like a New York Knickerbocker to me.

READ MOREJust Say No
Once again, my real life and an early rehearsal inhibited me from catching the Knicks game. Today was a matinee against the Boston Celtics. No biggie. I will just check the scores & stats via my NBA League Pass app sporadically and catch the replay on MSG later.
As I was checking in on the game from time to time, I was astonished to find that although they just blew out two teams in back to back wins, the Knicks were now getting blown out on their home floor by a Pierce-less Celtics team. WHAT?!? Whats going on?!? The play by play and boxscore is not enough to tell the story. I need to see this game. I couldn’t wait until my rehearsal was over so I could get home and watch the replay and analyze the highlights and lowlights to see what happened.
But, before I got a chance to watch the replay, I saw a quick clip of that disastrous Knicks game (during the Lakers pre-game talks and NBA daily recap) while waiting for Kobe to hit the floor for the first time since his injury in April.
In the very first second of the very first frame of that clip, I saw all I needed to see. There is no need for me to watch the Knicks / Celtics replay and analyze the highlights and lowlights. I know exactly what went wrong.
So, all I have to say to the Knicks regarding this game and their future as a team in general is, the next time they are told to wear those solid orange uniforms, they should just say no.

READ MOREHow To Say “Winning” In Italian
Andrea Bargnani has not only earned enough of my respect for me to never call him “Gallo face” again, but he has also helped to end my Blog strike.
Blocking, shooting, dunking, and even trash talking Kevin Garnett? Hell, welcome to New York big man. You are officially official. You broke Kevin Garnett down to nothing but just being nasty, and Knicks fans are proud of you.
And by the way, Kevin Garnett might not speak Italian, but I speak fluent n-word, and I can confidently confirm that KG was just taking a low blow shot at Bargnani’s heavy accent. But who cares? At this point, don’t we all expect KG to take low blows both on and off the court?
But, what I really want to ask KG, is when he got home, did he at least google search how to say “winning” in Italian?
I did…

READ MOREBlog Strike
I know I just started blogging, but I feel like I must continue my blog strike until the Knicks win a game as to avoid a full on trashing of Mike Woodson. Originally, I planned to write a few strongly worded, passionate paragraphs about the refs and how they should be fined for their bull crap calls in the same manner that the players are fined under the no flopping rule, but the questionable decisions Coach Woodson have been making lately, forces me have to thrash him a bit (because even I cant justify his bad moves with my always positive about the Knicks commentary). Now, I love JR just as much as he does, but there is NO WAY he should have been on the floor and Shump on the bench in the final minutes of the game against the Pelicans on Sunday. Wait, did I just say Pelicans? Im going to hover my head over my knees in disappointment just like JR did as the final buzzer sounded, and blog strike until its all over.

READ MOREIs Carmelo Anthony the Messiah?
Is Carmelo Anthony the Messiah people? I think not. But in terms of revitalizing the New York Knicks and making them championship contenders, he is pretty damn close to God like in basketball terms. Still, with all the good he has done (and continues to do for the Knicks), it seems he can never do enough. I remember before Carmelo came to New York how people would consistently say it would take a miracle to even get the Knicks into the playoffs. That the Knicks were a lost cause. Cursed if you will. Then, Carmelo Anthony performed a miracle by getting us to the playoffs. But instead of mostly being praised for the accomplishment, he was mostly condemned for not getting far enough in the playoffs. Is that how we should treat our leader people?
Now, we are just two games into the 2013-2014 season, and already our leader can’t do enough. In my opinion, Carmelo Anthony did a solid job against the Chicago Bulls (one of the best defensive teams in the league). Period. Would I have preferred to see him take it to the hole in those final seconds instead the jumper? Absolutely. However, Carmelo is one of the best offensive players of all time, and I support whatever decisions he makes on the floor (for better or for worse) considering that most of the time they are going to be golden.
What I find very uncomfortable to watch is how anytime Carmelo doesn’t make a shot, or if he has an off night, everything else that he has contributed during the game and/or to New York in general gets disregarded by people as if it didn’t happen. Much like when Jesus was walking amongst man constantly providing proof of his Godliness by performing many miracles that people would either completely disregard and not believe, or they would acknowledge it, but only in that moment of which the miracle was performed. Its as if some people are singing Janet Jackson’s song “What Have You Done For Me Lately” in the back of their minds when they think of Melo (and Jesus for that matter). It’s a crying shame.
What I’d like to do right now is take a moment to point out a few other things that happened in those final clutch seconds in the above mentioned Bulls game (other than Melo’s missed shot). In the last 10 seconds, there were a few opportunities for our beloved Tyson Chandler to help get us a win, but came up short. Now, this is in no way to beat Tyson up for his mistakes/misses, but lets be fair. For instance, Tyson Chandler let (sore neck, just getting back into the swing of things) Derrick Rose shoot a floater over his 7’0 head. Chandler also missed one of two clutch free throws. But, my favorite was when Carmelo missed that final shot, and Tyson Chandler was right under the basket, and missed the tip in. Nice. Now, isn’t it ironic that most of the tweets and headlines I saw credited Chandler for having a “monster game” without much emphasis on any of his missed clutch moments? Where as, the amount of times I had to hear and read about Carmelo’s missed jumper was just enough for me to feel like I needed to smack everyone with my basketball bible.
The way I see it, 3-1 in the final seconds of the loss against the Bulls, the blame is on Tyson Chandler. So if Chandler is forgiven, why is Carmelo not? I know Carmelo is our star player, and the Knicks is his team, and most of the burden falls on him. I get it. But he is not perfect.
What I would really like to know from you right now (leave comments below) is if he was absolutely perfect and could walk on water, would you then believe in him and give all praises due? History says, you would crucify him anyway. So, I guess that does makes him the Messiah. Of New York basketball that is…

The New, New York Knicks
For my first Trash Talk blog entry, I’d like to talk briefly about my favorite NBA team, the New York Knicks! Actually, lets be honest. If you know me, then you already know that the majority of my blog posts will probably be about the Knicks, but I will try and be diverse. However, I can’t make any promises.
Anyway, regarding the Knicks, there has been a lot of changes and we haven’t even gotten our feet wet into the 2013-2014 season yet. From new front office changes that slightly scare Knicks fans into thinking there may be an Isaiah Thomas return on deck, to the addition of Metta Ron World Artest Peace (and the dilemma about what to call him), and the free agent jibber jabber about Melo, the Knicks seem to have their hands (and roster) full. I don’t know about you, but as far as what to call Metta Ron World Artest Peace, I’m personally going to go with Raymond Felton’s undertone during one of his interviews of ‘his momma named him Ron, imma call him Ron’, and stick to calling him Ron Artest. No disrespect, but how selfish is it to force everyone to constantly think about your name? Can we think about defense, buckets and what to do with Shump’s hair this season please? Lord knows we have to keep that young man happy and fresh. Oh, and how hype am I about Shump’s preseason chemistry with our newest young’n, Tim Hardaway Jr? VERY! So how about we do our best to keep them both happy. We all know everybody else’s health is questionable.
However, I must say I am thrilled to have Mr. Artest-Peace’s toughness on board. If you, like me, watched that preseason game video a thousand times of Raptors forward Tyler Hansbrough about to break bad on one of our beloved Knicks, (until he saw it was our new friend in orange and blue) then you, like me, not only laughed your ass off hysterically, but you probably also made sure to read Tyler’s lips very carefully to discover he said, “aw Ron, my bad”. So hey, if Tyler can call him Ron and not get punched in the face, so can I!
But, more important than any changes in the front office, and any additions to the team, and even the loss of our 3 point pistol Steve Novak and his discount double check (although Novak and his 3 pointers technically disappeared the night Nate Robinson took his manhood AND his discount double check on the garden floor last season), the real question that many of us fans really want to know the answer to is, will JR Smith’s twitter game ever be the same?
